BATON ROUGE — District 58 State Representative Ken Brass was recently awarded the Louisiana National Guard Distinguished Civilian Service Medal by Adjutant General of Louisiana Major General Waddell. The award is presented to a civilian who has rendered exceptional meritorious service in furthering the security and welfare of Louisiana.
During the 2023 Regular Legislative Session, the District 58 Office authored HB485, which creates the Louisiana National Guard Patriot Scholarship Program to cover the cost of mandatory fees for members attending public universities/colleges in Louisiana in an effort to increase recruitment and retention.
Brass represents portions of St. James and St. John the Baptist parishes and is uncontested in the October 14 election.
