ESJ Alumni Association awards $22,500 in scholarships

RESERVE — Last week, the East St. John Alumni Association presented $22,500 in scholarships to 2023 graduates. The scholarship recipients were as follows:
- Scholarship No. 1 Extra Curricular Activity Participant/ GPA 2.5 or higher, $2,000 each – Akasha Williams and Yasmine Moore
- Scholarship #2 Technical/Vocational College, $1,000 each – Maci Roussell, Samuel Santos and Diana Pieto
- Scholarship #3 Student Athletes/ GPA 2.5 or higher, $2,000 each – Kyla Cage and Aailaina Banks
- Scholarship #4 GPA 3.0 or higher, $2,500 each – Paris Allen, George Martin III and Daquana Miller
- Scholarship #5 Four-year college/ GPA 2.5 or higher, $2,000 each – Javier Dantin and Migdaury Candelario
The ESJ Alumni Association thanks all alumni who made this year’s scholarship giveaway possible by attending the annual Alumni Tailgate. This year’s Tailgate is scheduled for the football game on September 29. All East St. John alumni are invited to this celebration with a purpose. The next Alumni Class representative meeting will take place at 6 p.m. August 17 inside the ESJ cafeteria.
