1st Republican Rally on the River held in St. James Parish

GRAMERCY — The community was invited to join the River Parish Republican Executive Committees for the first Republican Rally on the River June 24 at the St. James Parish Welcome Center in Gramercy.
Attendees brought their lawn chairs and ice cold beers for the event, which united St. James, St. John the Baptist and St. Charles parishes with good music, plenty of food, and the opportunity to meet Louisiana state and local Republican candidates.
The host was Jeff Couerer of Ringside Politics, an award-winning radio program in New Orleans dedicated to examining issues on the local, state, national and international levels.
The Republican guest speakers included Louis Gurvich, LaGOP Chair; Louisiana Governor candidates John Schroder, Xan John, Richard Nelson, Jeff Landry, Stephen Waguespack and Sharon Hewitt; Lt. Governor candidate Elbert Guillory; Secretary of State candidates Clay Schexnayder and Brandon Trosclair; State Treasurer candidate John Fleming, Commissioner of Insurance candidate Tim Temple; Attorney General candidates Liz Murill and John Stefanski; State Representative candidates Jason Amato – District 81, Beth Billings – District 56, and Shondrell Perrilloux – District 57; State Senate candidate Chris Delprit – District 2; and local candidates Tyrell Braud – St. James Parish President, Webb Jay – St. Charles Parish Council District 3; and Michelle Debruler – St. Charles Parish Council District 7.
