Unrestrained Driver Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

Amite – On June 23, 2023, shortly after 12:30 a.m, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to a single-vehicle crash on LA 1061 near Hayden Road in Tangipahoa Parish. The crash claimed the life of 21-year-old Keith Harrison of Kentwood.
The initial investigation revealed that Harrison was driving a 2008 Dodge pickup south on LA 1061 near Hayden Road. For reasons still under investigation, Harrison’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and impacted a tree.
Harrison was not restrained at the time of the crash, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Impairment on the part of Harrison is unknown and routine toxicology results are pending.
