St. Charles Parish Public Schools receives multiple digital media awards

LULING, La. – (June 20, 2023) – The National School Public Relations Association has announced St. Charles Parish Public Schools as the recipient of 17 awards in its 2023 Publications and Digital Media Excellence Contest. Awards are given at three levels: Honorable Mention, Award of Merit, and Award of Excellence.
The school system won three Awards of Excellence (the highest award level) in the branding/image package category for The InBox, TRAILBLAZERS documentary, and There’s No Place Like Home (2023 Teachers of the Year). Additionally, the district received the Award of Merit for the annual report, calendar, infographic (At A Glance and At Your Fingertips), marketing publication (Health Insurance Update and ABCs of SCPPS), special purpose publication (Teachers of the Year Ceremony Program), and video (Principal of the Year Spotlight, Recruiting Bus Operators, Employees of the Year, and Employee Beginning-of-the-Year Kickoff Recap) categories.
“’Open and honest communication and collaboration between school, home, and community build trust’ is one of the official beliefs of St. Charles Parish Public Schools,” commented Superintendent Dr. Ken Oertling. “The Public Information Department’s dedication to excellence promotes two-way communication with our stakeholders, and these awards recognize that dedication.”
Since 1935, the National School Public Relations Association has provided school communication training and services to school leaders throughout the United States, Canada, and the U.S. Department of Defense Dependents Schools worldwide. The association’s mission is to advance education through responsible communication.
