Several officers with the St. John Sheriff’s Office recently took on students and faculty at John L. Ory Communications Magnet School in LaPlace and students and staff at West St. John High in Edgard in friendly games of volleyball.

Sheriff Mike Tregre encourages his officers to participate in youth community outreach projects such as volleyball games to give young people the opportunity to see deputies in a different role other than that of law enforcement officers and to form a positive relationship with them.
