Overview:
WHAT: SLIGHT RISK of Heavy Rain and MARGINAL RISK of Severe Weather
WHEN: This afternoon and evening.
WHERE: All of SE LA and S MS, especially north of I-10 for heavy rainfall.
CONFIDENCE:

We are confident that there will be thunderstorms across the area and that a few will produce heavy rainfall. We are less confident in exactly where the greatest threat will be and if any storm will be severe.
Impacts:
The main threats associated with any severe storms will be:
Damaging Winds:

Wind gusts greater than 60 mph will be possible
Large Hail:

Large hail up to1 inch in diameter will be possible
Rainfall
- In addition to the severe weather threat, rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is forecast with locally higher amounts possible.
- Rainfall rates of 1-3″ per hour are possible
- This rainfall could lead to ponding of water in low lying areas and areas of poor drainage.
