LAPLACE – In observance of Louisiana Lemonade Day May 7, Sheriff Mike Tregre and a few officers enjoyed visiting with several aspiring entrepreneurs who set up lemonade stands throughout St. John Parish. We were unable to visit all stands. However, between calls for service, we stopped by as many stands as possible.
In 2010, John Georges, CEO of Georges Enterprises, and Todd Graves, founder of Raising Cane’s started Lemonade Day in Louisiana to encourage children to take ownership of their lives and become productive members of society. Georges and Graves were introduced to the business world at young ages when they operated their own lemonade stands. Children who participate in Lemonade Day learn about finance, literacy, economics, and college readiness, and they develop leadership, time management and other life skills.
