The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office has received several complaints of the US Marshalls Service calling residents and telling them that they have warrants for their arrest and unless they deposit money into a bitcoin account they will be picked up. Law enforcement agencies do not use bitcoin and do not contact individuals to pay fines over the phone. This is a scam. If you receive one of these calls, do not send any money and contact the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
