Ethel Schoeffner Elementary’s week of fun

It’s been a fun-filled week at Ethel Schoeffner Elementary School. Our fantastic 3rd graders finished reading the book “Because of Winn Dixie” and the PTO treated them to a Because of Winn Dixie Event. The party was a great way for the students to experience some of the events from the movie including: pickle juice, Dump Punch and egg salad sandwiches. Some teachers (Mrs. Bradley and Mrs. Mire) were even dressed as characters from the book.
Mrs. Feaheny, the librarian, hosted a book Mardi Gras Float Contest. The students were invited to make a float based on a book. Monday, the classes will try to match book titles with the floats. Some very creative floats were made.
Students recently took part in Carnival Day. This event was held in conjunction with the school fundraiser Finley’s Fun Run. The students and teachers had a great time playing some traditional games and an outdoor inflatable obstacle course.
