A New Iberia man pled guilty and was sentenced in Federal Court on Nov. 29 for migratory game bird hunting violations.

Brayden Krepper, 22, was fined $2,200, ordered to serve 50 hours of community service and had his hunting privileges taken away for two years.

The guilty plea stems from a Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Enforcement Division investigation.  LDWF agents cited Krepper on Nov. 20, 2021 for taking over the limit of mourning doves and failing to possess the required Harvest Information Program (HIP) certification.

Agents observed Krepper hunting doves in a field in St. Mary Parish on Nov. 20, 2021.  Agents made contact with Krepper and found him in possession of 37 mourning doves, which put him 22 doves over the daily limit.  He also did not possess his HIP certification.
