On September 25, 2022, at 8:45 PM, the Brothers Food Mart located at 3049 Loyola Drive, Kenner, was robbed at gunpoint. The suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and robbed the business of the money from the register. The cashier described the suspect as having a heart shaped tattoo under his eye.

While Kenner Police were on scene investigating this robbery, they learned JPSO was working an armed robbery in Metairie which occurred close in time to the Kenner robbery in which the perpetrator matched the same description as their suspect.

A joint investigation conducted by the Kenner Police Department and JPSO soon developed Marvin Sanders, 22, Metairie as a suspect. An arrest warrant and search warrant were obtained for Sanders and his residence in Metairie. Sanders was located at his residence and taken into custody. A search of his apartment revealed a handgun believed to have been used in the robbery and clothing worn by the suspect during the robbery.

As a result of the investigation, Sanders was arrested for the armed robbery in Kenner and two others in Jefferson Parish. The Kenner Police Department is still actively investigating this matter and believe more arrests are forthcoming.
