LAPLACE — Renita Graber, a retired 30-year school teacher, Southern University

graduate, Pastor of Victorious Life FWC, wife, mother and absolute servant-leader, has embarked upon another way to serve the children and community of St. John Parish. She is running to be your next District 11 School Board Member.

Renita Graber runs to serve as District 11 School Board member to increase the quality of education for every child here in St. John Parish. Our children deserve someone who has insight, foresight and fortitude to fight for them to receive the very best education.  Renita is a qualified educator with new and innovative ideas. She is the “Voice with a Vision.” She is running to win for the children of St. John Parish. She is running to win for families and the community at large.

Renita, a dedicated educator of 30 years is fighting for a better tomorrow for our kids. In 2012, she founded Fusion Youth Outreach, which exists to empower and impact the lives of kids. After retiring from the school system, her passion for kids did not die and in many ways intensified. In 2018, she launched The Youth Empowerment Program. This program impacted the lives of over 20 at-risk youth attending East St. John Prep Elementary School. Every Monday morning until COVID hit, young girls received face-to face weekly hands on training to succeed in school, at home and in the community.

With a can’t quit mentality, COVID did not stop Renita’s efforts. In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, Renita rolled out Camp Fusion; which was a life saver for many parents who had no idea what they would do with their kids after being called back to work during COVID. Renita and her team were already at work preparing to alleviate worries and meet kids’ needs. As many as 50 families were helped because of Camp Fusion.

The camp provided a safe place and a focus on education and fun.

In February 2022, this time concerned about the kids missing school after Hurricane Ida, Renita founded Bridging The Gap AfterSchool Tutoring Program. This program focused on math and reading and it had such an immediate impact on the kids in the community that the number attending grew daily.

Renita Graber’s VISION is SINGLE and it is SERVICE. She is a proven leader. Her ideas have legs and she runs with them until she gets results. She works the Vision.  Her Agenda as School Board member candidate is to increase the quality of education for every child in St. John Parish.

Renita is an innovative, future forward thinker with business savvy and a stand-up personality.  She has a proven record of meeting the needs of St. John Parish.
