LAPLACE — Law enforcement officers from many regional agencies participated in a Jiu-Jitsu defensive tactics course hosted by the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Sept. 6-9, 2022 at the Lloyd B. Johnson Law Enforcement Training Center in LaPlace.
This specialized training focuses on reasonable outcomes of control and then custody. Decision-making, use of force, de-escalation, contact communication, takedowns, ground control, and weapon retention were among the topics.
Instructors were Darren Desalvo, Kyle McCutchen and Greg Lapin.
