SPECIAL TO L’OBSERVATEUR
LAPLACE — Recently, Eliza Eugene headlined an event under her international ministry, “Blessed to Be a Blessing,” to provide children with backpacks and other necessary supplies for the upcoming school year. With over 200 volunteers, 60 churches, and sponsors, the event was also extended to supply a blood drive, food and child safety seats.
Eugene’s inspiration for this program comes from her own story and her mother’s life as a single parent. Her mission through nonprofit events such as this is to be an example of what could be accomplished when a team of individuals is willing to be a servant can achieve. Events like this are important to acknowledge because, as she says, we as a village must provide the tools necessary for a child to be successful. As a fellow educator, she views events like this to make an impact, not just to give.
