LAPLACE — On Wednesday, June 29, The Jambalaya Shoppe in LaPlace held a grand re-opening celebration to introduce new owners Todd and Cheryl Babin.
The celebration included a ribbon cutting and door prizes given every half hour.
St. John Parish President Jaclyn Hotard was in attendance for the ribbon cutting, as well as members of the River Region Chamber of Commerce.
“We have 16 stores. The people here who had this one, with Ida and everything, they had to close down and when they came back their franchise was up,” founder and CEO Cheryl Fontenot said.
The Jambalaya Shoppe is now under the ownership of Todd and Cheryl Babin, and along with new ownership, the LaPlace location is also bringing in a new menu item.
“Today we’re introducing to this area the Feeds 4 Bucket, which came about through Ida,” Fontenot said.
The Feeds 4 Bucket, which can be either jambalaya, pastalaya or gumbo, was created to be an accessible food option for families who don’t always have time to cook but don’t want to go through the drive-thru.
“With all the fast food and stuff today, you worry about your children getting a real meal,” Fontenot said.
The Feeds 4 Bucket is packed in to the very top to ensure customers are getting the most out of their meals.
“It’s great for mom to be able to come and grab that little bucket, and you’d be surprised how much it’s going to feed, especially when it’s children,” Fontenot said.
The Jambalaya Shoppe is located at 150 Belle Terre Blvd. Ste. F in LaPlace. The menu and more information can be found at https://thejambalayashoppe.com.
