OREOs help in moon education

Third grade students in Beverly Gossett’s class at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School are learning about the moon. To help students visualize and practice identifying moon phases, the students broke OREOs open and scraped off the icing as needed to create the eight moon phases. One of the best parts of the activity was getting to eat the leftover icing and cookie pieces. Mason Rome, from left, Saylor Tebault and Dillon Duley are shown hard at work getting the icing just right.
