ST. ROSE — Louisiana State Police is investigating the hit and run fatality that occurred Thanksgiving morning in St. Rose, and on Thursday announced a reward for information leading to the identification of the vehicle and driver.
Pedestrian Christin Allday, 25, was walking eastbound across St. Rose Avenue Nov. 27 and failed to yield to the oncoming vehicle, authorities said, before she walked into the roadway and was struck. Allday received life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Charles Hospital, where she later died.
Trooper Melissa Matey of LSP Troop B said LSP has surveillance video of the suspect vehicle, “which is believed to be a dark colored truck or SUV.”
Matey said the vehicle travelled south on the 300 block of St. Rose Avenue at 1:32 a.m. Nov. 27, and then turned east onto River Road.
“The driver of this vehicle did not stop or return to the scene of the crash,” Matey said.
Crimestoppers is offering up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect responsible for this crime.
Callers do not have to give their name or testify to receive the cash reward.
