LAPLACE — The Louisiana High School Athletic Association announced the baseball playoff brackets for the 2022 season. The LHSAA Baseball State Tournament will be held from May 11-14 at McMurry Park in Sulphur.

St. Charles Catholic earned a regional round bye and a No. 2 ranking in the Division III playoff bracket. Advancing to the quarterfinals, the Comets will compete against the winner of Friday and Saturday’s best-of-three regional round between No. 7 Isidore Newman and No. 10 Pope John Paul II.

Riverside Academy is a No. 15 seed in Division IV, competing in a best-of-three regional round against No. 2 Ascension Catholic. The regional games will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, noon on Saturday, and at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

In class 1A, West St. John received a No. 22 ranking and was matched with No. 11 Delhi for the bi-district round. East St. John did not advance to this year’s 5A playoffs.
