Violent crime in America is one of the biggest problems we face. The national
news continues to talk about it, wondering what’s the solution.
I’m reminded of what Mother Teresa said while speaking to President Clinton at the White House in front of a group of prominent religious leaders: “Until we stop dehumanizing the unborn child in the womb, expect more, not less, violence in homes, in our country, and throughout the world.
There’s a practical new book, “Speaking for the Unborn: 30-Second Pro-Life Rebuttals to Pro-Choice Arguments,” by Steven A. Christie, a medical doctor in Miami. He knows that abortion isn’t a mere political issue, but a basic human rights issue. Toward the beginning of the book, he points out that there have been over 62 million abortions since Roe in 1973. He writes: “If the unborn are not alive or not human, then it really doesn’t matter, and we needn’t bother about this.” He continues, “If, however, the unborn are alive and are human, than we have killed more than 62 million children.”
I believe what the Word of God says: “I knew you before you were in your mother’s womb.” That proves that we, as a country, are guilty of 62 million murders.
This year, the United States Supreme Court will have another abortion issue. I pray that their decision will stop the killing of millions of defenseless human beings.
May God forgive us for the 1973 Roe decisions.
