On Tuesday, March 29th 2022 at approximately 5:30 pm, deputies with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a shooting in the 200 Block of Dianne Drive in St. Rose, LA.
Upon arrival, deputies located a white male deceased inside of the residence from apparent gunshot wounds. Preliminarily, detectives learned that the 21-year-old arrived at his parents home wearing a ballistic (bullet proof) vest and armed with a semi-automatic handgun. He began arguing with his mother when his father returned to the residence. The argument then escalated with the father at which time the son drew his handgun. The father then fired his own weapon fatally wounding the son. The 21-year-old has a history of unstable and violent behavior and has been committed multiple times in the past for mental illness.
Deputies on scene have confirmed the incident is domestic and not related to the shooting yesterday, March 28th on Turtlecreek Lane in St. Rose. That incident is still under investigation. There is no threat to the public at large.
The investigation is ongoing at this time. More information will be released when available.
