Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Enforcement Division agents cited two men for alleged gross littering violations in Plaquemines Parish.
Agents cited Gavin Rodriguez, 21, of Terrytown, on Jan. 20 and Ngoc V. Tran, 39, of Gretna, on Jan. 19 after they found two separate illegal dumpsites on Walker Road south of Belle Chasse.
Agents began investigating both dumpsites and were able to track names of people from receipts and mail found in both piles. Agents interviewed the men and cited them for gross littering.
Gross littering carries up to a $950 fine and 30 days in jail. They may also face 16 hours of community service in a litter abatement work program.
Agents participating in the case are Corporal Thomas Forehand and Senior Agent Austin Landry. The case will be forwarded to District Attorney Charles Ballay for prosecution.
