LAPLACE — In the spirit of generosity, St. John the Baptist Parish President Jaclyn Hotard, Administration and staff, with contributions from Registrar of Voters and Assessor’s offices, assembled and distributed food baskets for local families for Thanksgiving.

The baskets were filled with non-perishable food items, holiday fixings and other items. In addition, families received a turkey donated by Matherne’s Riverlands Supermarket.

“It has been a challenging year, but our community never wavers in coming together when we need to most,” Hotard said. “I want to thank Parish staff and officials for donating the items in the baskets and hope all of our residents have a Happy Thanksgiving.”
