EDGARD— The Descendants Project, in partnership with TJS Trucking, will be distributing resources such as clothing, toiletries, diapers, cleaning supplies and other items to assist in Hurricane Ida recovery efforts.

The resources distribution will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18 at Juan Anthony Joseph Park – 3445 Hwy.18, Edgard.

The following items will be distributed: Clothing, shoes, socks, non-perishable foods, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, flash lights, hand sanitizer, towels, bath soap, masks, batteries, water, portable phone charger, trash bags, paper products, pet food, non-prescription medicine, first aid kits, laundry detergent, blankets, sleeping bags, gloves, baby bottles, baby wipes/diapers, baby formula, cleaning tools, cleaning supplies and meals.

“We are pleased to partner with TJS Trucking in providing additional resources to our community,” said Descendants Project Executive Director, Jo Banner.

Since the onset of Hurricane Ida, the Descendants Project has been actively involved in the recovery of their community. In addition to tarping approximately 20 homes, the non-profit organization has donated generators, portable air conditioners, gift cards and mattresses to residents.
