St. James Hospital welcomes Podiatry Clinic

LUTCHER — A Podiatry Clinic headed by Dr. Darek Guichard is the newest addition to St. James Parish Hospital.

Guichard will begin seeing patients in December, from 8 a.m. to noon every Monday in the Medical Plaza next to St. James Parish Hospital. To schedule an appointment, call 985-651-6096.

Guichard specializes in general podiatric care, heeling pain, ingrown nails, bunions, diabetic foot care, corn and callous care and surgical care.

He has been the director of the Podiatric Medical Residency Program at East Jefferson General Hospital since 1997 and has served as president, vice president, treasurer and board member for more than 15 years. He provides general podiatric care and is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.

Guichard has been practicing podiatry in Metairie and LaPlace for 24 years. He graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1975 and received a doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Iowa in 1989.

He completed his residency at East Jefferson General Hospital.
