1972- Ready for their 12th annual fund drive are these members of the LaPlace Volunteer Fire Department who will head the week-long event which gets underway with a parade Saturday. The firemen, who rely solely on contributions for operation and maintenance of the fire department  have set $12,000 as their goal for this year’s fund drive. Members of the department , members of the Auxiliary to the fire department and members of the LaPlace Jaycees will participate in the solicitation.
