St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office investigates a graduation party shooting

On May 16, 2021, at around 8:54 pm, the Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a shots being fired at a graduation party at the St. James Parish Boat Club, on US 61, in Gramercy. Deputies arrived on scene and discovered as the graduation party was ending, a fight broke out. People were pushed outside and shots were fired in the parking lot. One person was shot and was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and was later released from the hospital. Several vehicles were also struck by the gunfire.
The Sheriff’s Office is seeking any information from the public that could assist with solving this shooting. Anyone with information please contact St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office at 225-562-2200. Crime Stoppers GNO is also offering a reward, up to $2500 for any information that will lead to an arrest and indictment of any subjects involved in this crime.
