RESERVE — East St. John’s outdoor track and field team is on a roll. The team had a strong showing and placed second overall at the Destrehan track meet last week. This week, the girls were named the first place overall winners at the Lutcher High “Derbigny Relays.”

Three of the Wildcats received special recognitions at the Destrehan meet. Devion Devare was the Boys Track MVP, while Welland Williams was the Boys Field MVP and Zha’nell Francois was the Girls Field MVP.

Francois was once again the Girls Field MVP at Lutcher. This time, Devare was the Boys Track MVP, and Diamond Shorty was the Girls Track MVP.

The LHSAA outdoor track and field 2021 state meet will be held May 6-8 at the Louisiana State University Bernie Moore Track Stadium in Baton Rouge.
