LAPLACE — The River Region Arts & Humanities Council is looking to fund arts programs or humanities projects in the River Parishes.
Representing St. John the Baptist Parish, St. James Parish and St. Charles Parish, the Council has 2015 grants available for schools, theatre groups, libraries, art guilds and other non-profit organizations. The money is available to those interested in presenting arts programs or humanities projects, as well as for individuals pursuing developmental activities in arts and humanities.
The grants will not exceed $1,000 per application. Applications are available at rrahc.org, by contacting RRAHC, Post Office Box 1411, LaPlace, Louisiana, 70069-1411 or by calling Harold Flynn Jr at 985-652-7111.
Applications must be post marked by Oct. 31 and received by the 2015 Grants Committee by Nov. 7.
Grants will be announced in mid-December, and recipients will receive their awards during a reception at the Council office in LaPlace in January.
Last year’s grant committee presented 32 grants or sponsorships, totaling approximately $24,545.
The River Region Arts & Humanities Council is founded on the premise the arts and humanities are an integral part of everyday life. The purpose of the Council is to serve as an umbrella organization to enrich the quality of life within the region through the promotion of the arts and humanities, the preservation and enhancement of local culture and the support of art education through fundraising and program development in the River Parish Region.
