Father Walter Austin, left, celebrates the first schoolwide Mass at St. Charles Catholic High School earlier this school year.

The theme of the Mass was peace, for which Pope Francis has asked us all to pray. Austin continued the theme in his homily, challenging us all to be peaceful people in our daily lives.

Also at the Mass, 11 Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, pictured above, were commissioned for Masses at SCC, as well as at their home church parishes. They included Erin Monica, Tiffani Miller, Jeffrey Millet, Albert Hane, Kaitlyn Lowry, Tyler Forsythe, Emily Bergeron, Amy Kugler, Jordan Snowdy, Natalie Weinert and Kayla Waguespack.
