Crowfield excels at Virginia Commonwealth University

LAPLACE — LaPlace native Malik Crowfield, a 2016 graduate of Riverside Academy, is excelling as a senior guard on the Virginia Commonwealth University men’s basketball team.
Earlier this month, Crowfield had a big play in the form of a perfect 3-for-3 shot from behind the arc, leading the VCU Rams to a 69-57 victory over Old Dominion University.
Crowfield has been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to make a second half shot.
Coach Mike Rhoades acknowledged Crowfield’s improved shot selection, noting he has done a good job reading screens.
