Local actors bringing ‘Anything Goes’ to St. John

RESERVE — Dress rehearsals are in full swing this week as the cast and crew of “Anything Goes” gear up for opening weekend at St. John Theatre in Reserve.

The show opens Friday with a special “Opening Night Supper and Show” event, dinner starts at 5:45 p.m. at W.J.’s Smokehouse in LaPlace, with the performance starting at 7:30 p.m. at the theater.

The production will return to a more traditional format with shows at 7:30 p.m. July 19, 23, 24, 25 and 26. There is a 2:30 p.m. show July 20, Managing Director Crystal Faucheux said.

The story concerns madcap antics aboard an ocean liner bound from New York to London. Billy Crocker, played by Logan Viverito, is a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, played by Gracie Millet. The issue is that Hope is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, played by Kevin St. Amant.

Nightclub singer Reno Sweeney, played by Greer Millet, and Moonface Martin, played by Sean Roussel, aid Billy in his quest to win Hope.

The musical introduced such songs as “Anything Goes,” “You’re the Top” and “I Get a Kick Out of You.”

Tickets are available at Allied Express in LaPlace: adults are $15, $12 for seniors and veterans and $10 for children 12 and under.

The cast includes Greer Millet, Gracie Millet, Ann LeBlanc, Kevin St. Amant, Jeremy Guidry, Logan Viverito, Sean Roussel, Cary Berthelot, Gary Robert, Lance Duhe’, Jared Tregre, Lennen Madere, Svettlina Van Jakovich, Raykael Morris, Marcy Bordelon Bethany Duhon, Coran Johnson, Mickey Dupont, Lacey Lombardo, Seth Plaisance, Deborah Brown, JD Labat, Tori Warner, Sadie Kelley, Breland Keller, CoCo Chanel and Linda Briones.
