LAPLACE — The trial of 40th Judcial District Judge Jeff Perilloux was delayed once again this week, making this the third time the start date has been pushed back.

The trial is now scheduled to begin on Jan. 6. A joint motion was filed for the delay and the reason has been sealed, making it unknown at this time.

Perilloux was suspended in June 2018 when it was alleged he had inappropriately touched underage girls.

He faces three felony counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and a misdemeanor sexual battery charge.
