Felix “Frenchy” Dumas Jr., transitioned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the age of 74. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife at his bedside. He was the son of the Late Felix Sr. and Helen Dumas. Mr. Dumas was a resident of Gonzales, Louisiana and a native of Vacherie, Louisiana.
He was married 43years to Linda Smith Dumas. The Father of Horatio (Nelda) Dumas of Beaumont, Texas, Neal Smith (fiancée, Shavoona Ivy) of Los Angeles, California and Jason Dumas (devoted friend, Carolyn James) of Baytown, Texas.
He was the Son-In-Law of the Late Jessel Sr. and Eunice Smith of Edgard, Louisiana.
Brother of Veronica (Slyvester) Batiste and the Late Anthony Dumas.
Brother-in-Law of Terry Sr. (Denise) Smith, Gail (Rev. Joseph Jr.) Comminie, Monna (Timothy) Green, Yolanda Johnson, Keman Smith, Donald (Lisa) Smith and the Late Jessel Smith Jr.
God Father of Morisa Smith Wells, Mya Storks, Dontrell Chopin and Troy Saul. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Invited to the Home Going Services, Hopeful Triumph Baptist Church, and all neighboring Churches, St. John the Baptist Parish School Board’s Employees, Ascension Parish School Board’s Employees, Home Instead Senior Care and Ascension Council of Aging.
Funeral Service will be held at the Hopeful Triumph Baptist Church 38584 HWY 22, Darrow, Louisiana 70715, Pastor Sidney Tobias, August 24, 2019 at 11:00 am. Viewing begins at 9:00 am until service time.
