LaPlace man and three juveniles charged with armed robbery

LAPLACE — An 18-year-old and three juveniles, one age 15 and two age 17, were arrested Friday in connection to an armed robbery in LaPlace.
At about 1:15 a.m. Friday, deputies from the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2300 block of Williamsburg Drive in LaPlace in reference to an armed robbery.
Authorities made contact with a 16-year-old male victim who reported he was walking on Yorktowne Drive in LaPlace when four unknown male subjects attacked him from behind.
Dedrick Zeno, 18, of LaPlace, was identified as one of the four subjects.
The victim reported one suspect, later identified as a 17-year-old juvenile, struck him in the back of the head with a handgun before robbing the victim of his backpack, which contained personal items and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Officers located and gave chase to the four suspects, who fled on foot from the scene.
Based on investigation, a judicial warrant was obtained for Zeno and the juveniles’ arrest.
One 17-year-old juvenile was charged with armed robbery with a firearm (felony). He is being held in custody in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
The 15-year-old was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm in connection to an unrelated crime in which a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to the St. John Sheriff’s Office. He was also charged with principal to armed robbery with a firearm.
The 15-year-old has been transferred to the Terrebonne Juvenile Center.
Zeno and the second 17-year-old juvenile were charged with principal to armed robbery with a firearm.
They are being held in custody in lieu of $50,000 bonds.
All four suspects are residents of LaPlace.
Sheriff Mike Tregre said some of the stolen items were recovered.
