River Region Drama Guild is bringing Dirty Rotten Scoundrels to local audiences for the first time in recent memory.
The show kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Destrehan High School. A final 2 p.m. matinee closes out Sunday.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels tells the story of Lawrence Jameson and Freddy Benson, who make a lavish living by conning ladies out of their money. After meeting on a train, they attempt to work together, only to find their small French town isn’t big enough for the two of them.
Director Henry Sorbet promises a surprise ending.
“The show is quite funny,” Sorbet said. “It’s got a lot of humorous lines. A lot of plot twists happen along the way.”
Tickets are available for $25 at the door, cash or check only.
The main cast includes Louis Dudoussat as Lawrence Jameson, Mitchell Kogan as Freddy Benson, Logan Tauzin as Christine Colgate, Sean Malley as Andre Thibault, Laurie Reinagel as Muriel Eubanks and Whitney Randall as Jolene Oakes.
The ensemble includes Grace Ayton, Gavin Bunch, Christina Cross, Kelli Hebert, Kathryn Salvaggio, Luke Schaubhut, Paul Sullivan and Marguerite White.
