River Parishes Hospital recently announced Marcel Wallace, a Respiratory Therapist, as its April Employee of the Month.
Wallace received an award certificate, $100, will have her picture displayed on the Employees of Excellence wall in the main front entrance of the hospital and will be a candidate for the hospital’s Employee of the Year.
She has worked at River Parishes Hospital for nearly 28 years. A few years ago, Wallace volunteered to switch to the night shift to help with a staffing need. She is a staff therapist on the night shift and works independently.
“Marcel is very dependable,” says Jason Hawkes, Director of the Cardiopulmonary Department.
“She takes care of everything on her shift and leaves me a note if there is anything I need to know about. I am very fortunate to have her on the night shift.”
Marcel also volunteered to serve as the hospital representative on the Dupont Community Advisory Panel (CAP). She attends quarterly meetings to make the group aware of new services that are available at the hospital as well as health screenings, classes and seminars that are offered to the community.
Marcel is a life-long resident of Reserve.
She enjoys shopping and travelling. She recently took a trip to Europe. She is also a die-hard Saints fan.
