LAPLACE — U.S. Sen. David Vitter is inviting River Region residents to visit with members of his staff, who will be in LaPlace and Destrehan Thursday.

Vitter’s office announced the staff satellite office hours in a press release today, saying a higher volume of cases dealing with the Veterans Administration has come the senator’s attention and he encourages constituents to bring those concerns.

Vitter, R-Metaire, said he and his staff use satellite offices and town hall meetings around the state so constituents can find help dealing with federal agencies.

The office hours will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Parish Central Library, 2920 Louisiana 51 in LaPlace, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Charles Parish East Regional Library, 160 West Campus Drive in Destrehan.

“Residents are invited to attend these office hours and meet with a member of Vitter’s staff to discuss any problems they may have with any federal government agency,” a release said. “Vitter will be represented by staff and will not personally be in attendance.”

Those unable to attend the office hours can call the Southeast Louisiana regional office in Metairie at 504-589-2753. The Metairie office is located at 2800 Veterans Blvd., Suite 201, and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
