Police find man shot in head near LaPlace home’s front door

LAPLACE — A man shot in the head is in critical condition, police said, after deputies found him near a LaPlace home.
According to the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to the 100 block of West Second Street at approximately 1 a.m. Saturday to find the 59-year-old with a gunshot wound on the floor near the home’s front door.
Emergency medical services took the victim to a New Orleans-area hospital, where he is in critical condition.
Police said a motive for the shooting is unknown.
