LAPLACE — Last night at 11 p.m. a call was made to the St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office regarding shots fired on Concord Drive, a connecting street between Madewood Drive and Carrollwood Drive, in LaPlace.

Sheriff’s Office authorities said two witnesses separately reported to deputies they saw several subjects shooting a rifle-type firearm at a passing vehicle.

Witnesses said the vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction and the subjects soon dispersed.

Authorities said there are no current reports of any structural damage or anyone being physically harmed in the incident.
