On Jan. 25, 1974, I decided to seek help for my alcoholism.

I didn’t really know if I wanted to quit drinking, but I was sure I wanted to save my family.

I was told of a 12-step self-help program that was successful in helping people to get sober. This month I will celebrate 45 years of sobriety.

It wasn’t until years later, while working in God’s program of Get High on Life, that statistics showed more people seek help for alcohol and drug abuse in January than in any other month.

If you, or someone you know, are fighting the addiction to alcohol or illegal drugs, be assured that there are people willing to help.

The first and most important step in defeating the problem is making a decision to seek help.

Having been a laborer in God’s program of Get High on Life since 1980, I have been able to direct people to different agencies and rehab programs.

The programs that I recommend will allow you to have a spiritual awakening that will free you from the misery and bondage of alcohol and illegal addiction.

What a better time than the new year to make that decision to change your old way of living!
