Leroy J. Labat, 83, died on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014.

He was the beloved husband of the late Janice Dufresne Labat, father of Leslie L. Foret and Kerry and Layne Labat. He also had eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was the son of the late Lawrence and Elsie Gautreaux Labat, brother of Daniel Labat, Thelma Cheek and the late Gerald Labat and Verna McTyre.

He was a native and resident of LaPlace.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services. Visitation will be held at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway, LaPlace, on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by religious services in the funeral home chapel at 7 p.m. Burial will be private at a later date.
