RPH meet and greet

The Senior Friends Members at River Parishes Hospital recently attended a Fall Fest Meet and Greet Lunch and Seminar. Each member brought a non-perishable food item that was placed in a basket to be donated to a needy family for Thanksgiving through the St. John Ministry of Care.
Members enjoyed a complimentary lunch and had the opportunity to sign up for upcoming member events scheduled in November and December. Members were also able to bring a guest to learn about the benefits of becoming a member of the Senior Friends Program.
Pam Pourciau, adult nurse practitioner at the LaPlace Medical Center discussed the new DASH Diet. DASH, or Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension was developed to fight high blood pressure — not specifically as an all-purpose diet, but experts give it high marks all around, according to an article in US News.
