LAPLACE — Night Out Against Crime and the upcoming Thanksgiving senior luncheon are two events open to community participation sponsored through the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Mike Tregre is encouraging residents to participate in Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday.
The Sheriff’s Office said more than 30 neighborhoods registered parties with authorities by late last month and were hoping for even more.
Officers will visit all parties that are registered with the SJSO.
“Join the SJSO in showing criminals that the community and law enforcement are working together to stop crime in the place we call home,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.
To register, call 985-359-8753.
In other community outreach news, the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office will present its annual Thanksgiving luncheon for parish senior citizens Nov. 20 at Regala Gym, 194 Regala Park Road in Reserve.
Bingo begins at 10 a.m. Lunch will be served at 11:15 a.m.
Parish seniors are invited to attend.
