RESERVE — St. John the Baptist Parish Public School District Superintendent Kevin George recently met for the first time in 2018-19 with his Superintendent’s Council.
These two councils are made up of students from West St. John High School and East St. John High School, and they plan to meet regularly throughout the school year with the superintendent to share concerns and offer feedback about what’s happening at their schools.
George said it is important for students to have a voice because they “are the North Star of our district.”
“Everything we do is centered around them and guided by what they need,” he said. “
I received some great feedback from our first meeting and I’m already working to address some of their concerns.”
George started the council practice for each high school during the 2017-18 academic year.
