DESTREHAN — Girls in grades kindergarten through 12th are invited to a Girl Scouts day of play from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 15 at St. Charles United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall, 1905 Ormond Blvd. in Destrehan.
Current Girl Scouts are invited and encouraged to bring a non-Girl Scout friend. The informational meeting will provide girls and their families the opportunity to ask questions and register their daughters in Girl Scouts, and allow girls to explore robots, participate in patch workshops, do arts and crafts, make edible fires, pet animals, raffles and more.
“We are excited to meet girls in St. Charles Parish, and what better way than to have a day of play,” said Girl Scouts Louisiana East External Recruiting Specialist, Sarah Hebert. “We want new girls to experience some of our program activities and meet current Girl Scouts at the same time.”
Organizers say Girl Scouts unite the best of its legacy experiences — like outdoor adventure, camping and its cookie program with exciting, modern programs in STEM and engineering to ensure a truly one-of-a-kind experience for today’s girls.
The annual Girl Scout membership fee is $25 for both girls and adults. Favorite activities include the outdoors, health and fitness, the arts, science and technology, travel, cookie-selling, and much more.
