President Trump puts out local call for business advice in Africa

RESERVE — President Donald Trump’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa recently visited Ethiopia, Kenya, Côte D’Ivoire and Ghana to gather insight into market opportunities and challenges faced by U.S. businesses in those economies.
Led by U.S. Government heavy hitters like Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Gilbert Kaplan, the group also includes a distinctly St. John the Baptist Parish-flare.
DSC Dredge President and CEO Bob Wetta was appointed to the Council in April.
Wetta quickly named DSC’s Director of International Dredge Sales Charlie Sinunu to his staff to help identify commercial opportunities for the U.S. in Africa.
Wetta said his time on the Council is an honor and a privilege.
Stichweh’s washing and dewatering bucket wheels are designed for fine-grained material like sand or grain mixtures special washing, dewatering and recovery systems.
“I am humbled by the appointment and am committed to providing valuable input and assisting with recommendations for commerce in Africa,” Wetta said.
The president’s Advisory Council, including Wetta, is asked to provide Trump with reliable and actionable recommendations to deepen commercial relationships in Africa.

The main product of SMT-Stichweh, which is approaching its 100-year anniversary, is their washing and dewatering bucket wheels. DSC is including the option of dewatering wheels to be used in conjunction with DSC dredges.
Wetta said Stichweh’s bucket wheel program, the largest for the international market, is “perfectly tailored” to the material conditions, furthering DSC’s commitment to optimize dredge production.
According to Wetta, Stichweh’s dewatering wheels are safe and functional, offering long production life with low specific energy requirements.
