Shirley Wilton Montz

Shirley Wilton Montz passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the age of 94.
She was a native and lifelong resident of LaPlace.
Shirley retired from Bank of St. John, where she worked for many years as a bank teller.
She was a parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, was a longtime member of the Ladies Altar Society and a volunteer for the St. Joan of Arc Thrift Shop.
Shirley was an avid LSU Tiger fan.
She was the beloved wife of the late Nemours “Nem” A. Montz; loving mother of Wayne “Scrap” Montz (Carol) and Patty Silva (Craig); grandmother of Steven Montz (Dolores), Carey Montz (Nicole), Jill Montz, Todd Silva and Abby Gavezzoli(Marco); and great grandmother of Houston Montz, Carly Montz, Kaylyn Montz, Braedon Montz, Marcello Gavezzoli and Paolo Gavezzoli.
She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Kenneth Wilton and Lucille Maurin Wilton, and her sister, Lorraine Wilton Rassat (Razz).
The family would like to give a special thanks to the ladies from Maison Oaks Assisted Living and Harmony Hospice Care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 W. 5th St. in LaPlace on Saturday, June 9 at noon.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. in church. Interment is in St. Peter Cemetery.
