The Community Celebration Network Committee launched ‘Christmas on Main Street’ with a successful kickoff on July 12 at Destiny Christian Center, blending festive cheer and tropical flair.

With the theme “Aloha, Welcome to Christmas in July,” the event transformed the church into a summer winter wonderland, reminiscent of a joyful baby shower, with gifts under a Christmas tree. 

Attendees donated toys, gift cards, and money for the December 13, 2025, holiday celebration. Kids were given toys and games so they don’t feel like they missed out on summer fun. 

Organized by the Community Celebration Network Committee, of Destiny Christian Center, the toy drive seeks to bring holiday joy to children and families in need. Organizers say donations are still being accepted.

Donations can be dropped off at Destiny Christian Center, located at 612 Main Street in LaPlace, during Sunday services at 8 a.m. or 10 a.m.
