Raiven Williams, of St John the Baptist Parish, has been inducted into the National Honor Society, an elite national youth organization.
Williams is a junior at John Curtis Christian School in River Ridge and a dedicated section leader and saxophonist in the Colonial Regiment Marching Band.
Williams is focused on the future and plans to study law at the University of Texas in Austin after graduating high school and a community volunteer at Destiny Christian Center’s media department in Laplace.
Eligible students for the National Honor Society must be current juniors or seniors with a GPA of 3.65 or higher, have completed five or more AP or dual credit courses, participate in at least three extracurricular activities, and fulfill 15 volunteer hours.
She is the daughter of Yolanda Fleming-Williams, an author, columnist, and co-founder of Apex Maintenance Group, a maintenance company.
The National Honor Society expects inducted members to participate in service projects, leadership training, tutoring programs, and other community-oriented activities. The program seeks to promote its members’ scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
